The bike’s digital passport: HunterTag and Qeryu Technology build it in on the production line
HunterTag and Dongguan Qeryu Technology sign a partnership to integrate NFC security directly at the factory, as standard equipment on e-bikes sold in Europe

HunterTag’s NFC security tags will be integrated directly into every Qeryu Technology e-bike, turning security into standard equipment rather than an aftermarket accessory. Every bike is thus born with a verifiable digital identity that accompanies the owner throughout the life of the vehicle and safeguards its proof of ownership and resale value.
In brief
- HunterTag and Dongguan Qeryu Technology have signed a manufacturing partnership to integrate NFC security technology directly into e-bikes destined for the European market.
- Every Qeryu e-bike will leave the factory with the HunterTag NFC security system already installed, removing the need for aftermarket work.
- The system combines advanced-security NFC tags, encryption and anti-cloning authentication with a community recovery network: when a bike is reported stolen, the owner activates a reward that mobilises the “Hunters” to verify it and help recover it.
- Every bike gains a verifiable digital identity that simplifies proof of ownership, warranty management and resale; the manufacturer receives only aggregated, anonymous indicators on the lifespan and reliability of the bikes in circulation.
- This is HunterTag’s first OEM manufacturing partnership and a key step in its international expansion.
HunterTag S.r.l., an Italian company, develops a bicycle security system based on NFC (Near Field Communication) and powered by the community: advanced-security tags integrated into the bike, a network of volunteer “Hunters” and a reward system that mobilises recovery in the event of theft. Under the agreement with Dongguan Qeryu Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese manufacturer of pedal-assist bicycles, the tags will be built into the bikes during production, so protection is active from the moment the bike comes out of the box.
Founded in 2025 and based in Italy, HunterTag connects bike owners, a network of volunteer Hunters and, now, manufacturers as well. For cyclists it means protection built in from the start; for Qeryu Technology, a point of differentiation in markets where security is an increasingly important purchase factor.
“This agreement with Qeryu Technology is a decisive step in HunterTag’s growth. Their engineering precision and over 20 years of experience producing components and bikes for leading OEM brands make them the ideal partner to bring our security platform to cyclists across the continent. Our intention is to keep expanding our network of manufacturing and industrial partners, with our sights set on Europe, North America and Asia, where demand for premium bikes keeps growing.”

Tackling bike theft at the source
Bike theft affects millions of cyclists worldwide every year, and existing countermeasures such as locks, GPS trackers and owner registries tend to be fragmented and applied only after purchase. HunterTag’s approach builds security in during production: every Qeryu Technology bike shipped to Europe will carry a tamper-resistant NFC tag from day one, removing the friction of aftermarket installation and giving owners verifiable ownership data from the outset.
A digital identity that lasts as long as the bike
Beyond security, the tag gives every bike a persistent digital identity. For the owner that means proof of ownership verifiable from the outset, easier warranty management and greater resale value, because a second-hand buyer can confirm in seconds that the bike is not reported stolen.
For Qeryu Technology, the network’s activity generates, in strictly aggregated and anonymous form, indicators on the life cycle of the active fleet (average lifespan per model, geographic distribution, reliability) useful for guiding engineering and warranty decisions across the urban, long-distance and cargo lines. Cyclists’ personal data stays protected and is never shared: HunterTag processes information in full compliance with the GDPR.
How HunterTag works
01
Registration
The owner links the bike’s NFC tag to their profile in the HunterTag app.
02
Community verification
Anyone can check a bike by holding an NFC-enabled smartphone near the tag: no app required, a page with the bike’s status opens instantly. Hunters do this on their daily journeys, keeping a real-time ownership record up to date.
03
Recovery
If a bike is reported stolen, the owner can publish a reward on the platform to mobilise the Hunter network and help locate and recover it.
